Peacock Alley Care for Your Linens

CARE FOR YOUR LINENS

how-to

Proper care of your Peacock Alley linens will ensure an investment that lasts. Our collections are designed to get softer with age and are meant to be well-loved.

HOME CARE

Machine launder in cold water on the gentle cycle with a cold water rinse. Use a mild detergent without added bleach, whiteners or softeners. Do not use a liquid fabric softener. as this can damage the cotton fibers.

Tumble dry on low heat. Remove sheets promptly to prevent wrinkling. If desired, press linens while slightly damp on the reverse side of the fabric using a steam iron on the hot/warm setting.

PLEASE NOTE

Certain oral and skin care products contain ingredients such as peroxide, bleaching agents, oils or acids. Some of these agents may cause discoloration upon laundering.

All natural fibers will shrink to some extent and up to about 3% shrinkage on first launder can be expected on sheets and blankets. To minimize shrinkage, avoid hot water washing and high heat drying. Never over-dry your linens.

Peacock Alley Care for Your Matelassé

CARE FOR YOUR MATELASSÉ

how-to

Crafted from the finest quality materials and workmanship, your Peacock Alley coverlet is designed to be enjoyed for years to come. Most of our matelassé coverlets and quilts are machine washable, however, refer to the care label or product page for specific care guidance.

HOME CARE

When laundering your matelassé coverlets and quilts at home, machine wash cold on a delicate or gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Do not launder with any other items that may contain zippers or hooks as they may snag on the quilted material. Avoid using any harsh detergents or bleach. Tumble dry on low or using the air feature on your dryer. High heat can cause excessive shrinkage.

PROFESSIONAL LAUNDERING

If you choose to have your matelassé professionally laundered, ask your cleaner for a "cold water block process," which will help retain the matelassé's size and shape.

DRY CLEAN

Please dry clean any matelassé that contains a linen blend.

PLEASE NOTE

All natural fibers will shrink to some extent on first wash. Our coverlets are generously cut to allow for a normal shrinkage of 3 to 5 inches in length and width. Because we use all-natural fibers, slight variation in color and texture can arise during the weaving process. These unique variations lend to the beauty and character of the piece.

how-to

Fluffy, absorbent and quick-drying, our bath towels and bath rugs are made to be used again and again. Follow the tips below to extend the longevity and luxury of our bath collections.

Before using your towels and rugs for the first time, use a mild detergent without added bleach, whiteners or softeners. Do not use a liquid fabric softener, which can damage the natural fibers and compromise the absorbency of your towels.

Tumble dry on low heat. Remove promptly when dry. On first wash, expect more lint than on future wash cycles. Our towels and bath rugs improve with laundering - increasing in softness, fluff and absorbency.

PLEASE NOTE

Peacock Alley Down Care

CARE FOR YOUR DOWN & DOWN ALTERNATIVE BEDDING

how-to

CLEANING DOWN BEDDING

To freshen your down or down alternative products, place outside in direct sunlight. To clean your down or down alternative products, we recommend a professional launderer familiar with cleaning these types of products. We do not recommend dry cleaning down as the chemicals can harm the fluffy, all-natural fibers. If spot cleaning the shell is necessary, dab with a gentle detergent or linen wash product. As with your pillow case, washing your pillow protector weekly will extend the longevity of the pillow and keep it hygienic.

KEEP YOUR DOWN FLUFFY

To help increase loft and reduce moisture, toss your down duvet into a front-loading dryer set on air or low. We recommend periodic laundering by a professional to maintain optimal loft.

COVERING YOUR INVESTMENT

Use a pillow protector and a duvet cover to ensure the lifespan of your pillows and duvet.
