Cotton, Egyptian Cotton, Marcella,

Cotton is a soft fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective capsule, around the seeds of a cotton plant. The plant is native to tropical and subtropical regions around the world including the Americas, Africa, India and Pakistan. Cotton has been spun, woven, and dyed since prehistoric times. A perfect choice for luxurious bedding.

All luxurious cotton is made from long staple cotton. The longer the fiber, the finer the yarn. Extra long staple cotton fibers make a stronger, softer yarn, and in turn, weave into a much stronger and softer fabric.

Many of Peacock Alley's signature, luxury bedding, is made from Egyptian cotton. Egypt is one of the largest producers of extra long staple cotton in the world. Egyptian cotton is much softer than regular cotton and lasts much longer.

American Pima cotton is grown in California, New Mexico, Arizona and parts of West Texas. It too has a long, silky staple and the name Pima was applied to honor the Pima Indians.
